Kavpix's Guide to Logic Gates: Theory, Intuition and Minecraft
SocratiQ Featured Exploration #3
We love logic, we love, love computing and we love, love, love Minecraft. So, forgive us as we jump around in excitement like a bunch of Lego cubes as we announce our third featured exploration crafted with care, affection and joyful pain: Logic Gates.
Kavpix is a pixel-artist with a unique worldview, programmer with a keen sense of logic and a wielder of many powerful lenses that show right, wrong and everything in-between, making him a secret logician and underground ethicist.
We are featuring this exploration as it is a perfect blend of:
Experiential / Project Based Learning: You get to role-play as a gig worker / soldier / handyman in a medieval Minecraft world and then checkout the logic gates that power that game.
Instructional Exposition: It has just the right amount of instruction for a beginner to chart their course. There is super interesting historical overlay to relish the richness of the topic. Students will of course be continuously aided by instruction through the SocratiQ Lessons, Topical Guides and Feedback after they get their feet wet.
Intentional, Active Curriculum: It has teacher added inquiries loaded with excellent intentions and beautifully organized topical structure.
We believe that this is a fantastic addition to any upper-middle-school, high school level classroom as an introductory course on logic with a super low floor and infinite ceiling to accommodate learners at any level of sophistication and interest.
